This is a classic children’s song heard in China and Taiwan. This song is about two tigers. One has no eyes and the other has no tail. Don’t get scared! It is supposed to be funny. The song goes like this:

In this video, you are introduced to the girls who make up the exciting performing group from mainland China called The 12 Girls Band. This group has had numerous hits around the world including staying on Japanese music charts for 30 weeks with their first album. Along with traditional Chinese music, this ensemble of young women also records versions of popular folksongs from different cultures and also released an album called “Eastern Energy,” with versions of songs by modern artists such as Coldplay.

The 12 Girls Band performs on traditional Chinese instruments including: erhu (Chinese fiddle), pipa (pear-shaped lute), guzheng (zither), yangqin(hammered dulcimer), dizi (transverse flute), and xiao (vertical flute) as well as the duxianqin (single-stringed zither) and hulusi (three-piped gourd flute).
